The first day of spring has come and gone but we have never been more excited about a collection! Perhaps it’s the introduction of our mixed metal pieces to help you bridge your silver and gold jewelry; or our clear quartz designs that inspire transparency in both aesthetic and personal purpose; or the fact that our timing couldn’t have been better to launch the collection as we happened to be in the city of endless inspiration: New York City.
Our adventure started with a stroll around Soho and a stop at Outdoor Voices – the coveted athleisure apparel that Kirsten had been dying to get her hands on. Then we stumbled upon a new favourite hot spot which led to a veggie burger obsession at by Chloe. A popular joint with multiple locations and the most delicious guacamole burger and air bagged french fries! For dessert we headed to the place where we could find the most butter, sugar and all things yummy: The Little Cupcake Bakeshop. Next it was off to Come From Away – the musical that has stolen the hearts of all Canadians. It reminded us of the need to be caring, giving and generous, regardless of nationality, ethnicity, sex, race, religion, etc. It not only made you proud to be Canadian but proud to be a human. It’s amazing what we are capable of with a little bit of compassion.
We also made a stop at our all-time favourite Italian restaurant, Rubirosa. Just like by Chloe and The Little Cupcake Bakeshop, this place boasts a great gluten free menu. We also found a few new places to stop too including Upton – a custom-made belt store as this accessory seems to be the most difficult for any one of any shape, size, and taste, and Stick With Me – the most beautiful chocolates you’ve ever seen! Our last day was dedicated to Klas squared and sharing the themes and inspiration that embody the new Spring Collection. We headed up to the Spyglass Rooftop at our hotel to broadcast our Facebook Live which you can still watch by visiting our Facebook page.
And as excited as we are about our new designs, it is always humbling to be reminded of where we started. Over the years we have had customers share stories about how their jewelry has brought them style, joy, and power. But never have we witnessed a story like this one; one that affirmed not only the Klas squared jewelry brand but also Lori’s purpose as a jewelry designer and woman. We were reminded of the power that jewelry has to connect us even beyond its material quality. You can read the whole story here and we welcome you to share your thoughts in the comments. After all, that’s what this monthly letter is all about: staying connected with you.
